One day I decided that my breakfast had not been good enough, and that my next breakfast should include a cheese omelette. I hadn’t eaten cheese for awhile, so I believed we did not have cheese at home. I bought some cheese. The next morning I grated all the cheese, used some for my omelette, and then put the rest into the freezer. Lo and behold —
— there was another bag of grated cheese already in the freezer!
I believed we did not have cheese in the freezer. Therefore I wasted time (not much), and money (not much) and energy (not much), to buy and grate some cheese. The truth was, we had cheese. Because I did not believe the truth, I could not enjoy the benefits of the truth.
Well, in this case the consequences were not too bad. — just a little time wasted, and a few more tummy growls before I got my breakfast.
There are much bigger issues in life — questions like, “Who are we?” “Why are we here?” “Is there a God?” Make sure you know the truth about these issues, so that you can enjoy the benefits of the truth!
