What you believe matters — a true story of my sunglasses

One day, I went out to lunch.  I soon folded up my coat and put it into my backpack, because it was warmer out than I had expected.  After lunch, I went to run some errands. I wanted to put on my sunglasses, but remembered that they were in my coat pocket, buried in my backpack.  I thought, “Oh, well, there’s enough shade that I’ll shouldn’t have too much problem with bright sunlight.  I went into the market and came back out again.  I reached for my sunglasses, and remembered again, “Oh. They’re in my backpack.”  I considered stopping to get my coat out of my backpack and get my sunglasses out of the pocket, but I decided it wasn’t worth the effort.  I wasn’t that far from home.  I ran a couple more errands and returned home.

After I got home, I discovered that my sunglasses were hooked onto my sweater, and had actually been easily available the whole time!

What you believe DOES matter. I believed that my sunglasses were difficult to access; and so I could not enjoy the benefits of my sunglasses! The truth was, my sunglasses were easily accessible at any moment, and I could easily have saved myself from eye strain and squinting, and even possible ultraviolet damage to my eyes. — but because I did not believe the truth, I could not access the benefits of the truth!

There are issues in your life (and death) which are a whole lot more important than sunglasses and eye strain. Make sure you know the truth about these issues, so that you can access the benefits of the truth!
